Victoria's New Canadian - What I need to know to buy a house in Canada

This group is for people who have come to make Canada their home. Whether you have been here 50 days or 50 years. We understand that moving to a new country comes with unique challenges and struggles. We endeavour to build community, bring people together that can relate, and help newcomers (and been-here-a-long-time-'ers) navigate Canada's culture, legal system, banking system, educational system, and much more.

This group is purely for informational purposes and no solicitation. We know many newcomers who greatly need this information. There are organizations that assist with job searching and ESL, maybe some tax stuff, but none that help people immigrating here permanently to navigate debt and assets, government programs you are entitled to, exercising your rights, resources, and much more. We intend to have lots of guest speakers get involved too.

This group is organized by Adam Pawlovich, an immigration lawyer, and Kira Harris, a financial advisor with IG Wealth Management.

As organizers, we are just getting this group together and we plan on hosting meetups, mixers, and get-togethers. If you have any interest in making meetup suggestions or events, or interested in co-hosting this group, please private message us!
